First-session plan
Talk, prepare and keep the quest item
Read the island’s conversations before committing your starting money. A fishing rod helps you hook a target; you still need a way to finish the fight and food to recover afterward.
Keep the Empty Beer Can and the Spider Crab quest result until you have used them for progression. Their value to this route is the encounter or reward they unlock.
Opening route
Eight steps from shore to your next island
Use the steps as a sequence of objectives. You do not need a perfect inventory or an expensive loadout to understand what comes next.
Search the crash site
Collect nearby Clams and the useful loose items before wandering. Eat only what you need for hunger and keep surplus catches for the first sale.
Coverage note: The Patch 1.0.10 verified snapshot persists up to 64 loose items, but organizing early still prevents confusion.
Talk to every Lighthouse NPC
Dialogue reveals the shop, missing-beer quest, engine path and the sequence that gets you off the island. Do this before buying upgrades.
Fund a basic weapon
Sell surplus creatures and buy a reliable way to finish a catch. A better rod catches targets; a weapon completes the kill-and-sell loop and handles the first boss.
Turn Beer into the boss trigger
Give the Beer to the Lighthouse Keeper. The returned Empty Beer Can is not trash: attach it to the Crab Fishing Rod to call the Spider Crab.
Fight Spider Crab on open ground
Pull the encounter away from clutter, move sideways through the charge line, then punish the recovery. Keep enough room to see the next rush.
Keep the quest result
Do not sell, cook or abandon the Spider Crab result. Return it to the Lighthouse Keeper to finish the hand-in and receive the boat keys.
Take the radar separately
The keys let you drive; the radar gives useful route markers. Confirm both are handled before leaving so the Forest trip is not a blind sail.
Prepare before departure
Carry food, a working weapon and spare funds. The Forest adds ordinary fish, ground leeches and the next boss chain, so an empty inventory is more useful than random clutter.
The first boss
Prepare before using the can
Give yourself clear ground, check your weapon and keep food within reach before triggering Spider Crab. Move across the path of its rush rather than staying directly in front of it, then attack when it recovers.
If the fight stalls, revisit the basics: enough room to move, a weapon you can use consistently and supplies to survive another attempt.
Before you leave
Departure checklist
Mark the tasks you have finished. These checks record your own progress; they do not inspect your game or save file.

Quick answers
Common opening questions
What am I working toward on Lighthouse?
Finish the keeper’s quest chain, obtain the boat keys and collect the Radar. Treat the boss result as a hand-in until that chain is complete.
Why is the Empty Beer Can important?
It is the Spider Crab encounter trigger. Use it with the Crab Fishing Rod after the beer request instead of treating it as a disposable container.
What should I buy first?
Secure a dependable weapon before overspending on a rod. Boss hand-ins, not fishing power alone, unlock the route.
Where do I go next?
The next campaign destination is Forest Island. Read the Radar and follow the Forest route after your Lighthouse hand-ins and departure checks are complete.
