Campaign encounter facts cover the launch route reviewed for Patch 1.0.10. This rewritten guide is not a new gameplay test. Later updates add encounters; check Fishipedia and the update archive for your installed version.
Get the Carrot from the Tourist
Keep an eligible endangered catch for the Tourist rather than selling it with the rest of a fishing batch. Needlefish and Seahorse are examples in the reviewed route. Complete the exchange and use the Carrot for the Pufferfish encounter.
Pufferfish is the Desert campaign boss in this guide. The ordinary Yellow Boxfish catch and the optional Blue Shark encounter have different roles; neither completes the Carrot route.
Plan for movement as well as damage
Carry food and enough ammunition for repeated safe attacks. Find room to turn and move sideways without stepping straight into another obstacle. Check where you can retreat before starting the encounter rather than improvising only after taking damage.
- Keep the Carrot separate from ordinary fishing supplies.
- Choose a weapon that lets you keep attention on the approach.
- Reserve room for the fin and decide who returns it in co-op.
Cross the charge line and leave unsafe space
Read the charge direction, move across it and attack after the rush passes. Avoid standing still to finish a magazine when movement is the safer choice. If poison or the creature’s position makes a patch of ground unsafe, move the fight to a clearer part of your route.
Repeated positioning mistakes are a better reason to change where you fight than to assume you need a specific damage number. Earlier official patches adjusted this boss, and this page does not attach current health or timing values to the old route notes.
Return the fin before planning the voyage
Collect the fin and finish the Tourist’s quest exchange to reveal Rocks Island. Protect that item from the sale and cooking workflow until the objective is accepted.
The Grillmaster route remains separate. If you also want cooking before you leave the Desert, plan the Blue Shark side encounter after ensuring the story hand-in is secure.
