Use the starting pool
Brown Crab is one of the two ordinary entries listed for the Crab Fishing Rod’s default pool at the Lighthouse. A Hot Dog is not part of this setup; that bait corresponds to Rock Crab and Lobster instead.
If Brown Crab is the missing entry on your checklist, return to the default setup before buying more bait. The shared pool also contains Shrimp, so the setup identifies eligible catches rather than promising the next creature.
Keep the first purchases small
The recorded raw base is 3 coins, compared with 5 for Shrimp. A few early catches can contribute to your starting budget, but this small base makes expensive ammunition a poor assumption for a money plan.
The Empty Beer Can belongs to the Spider Crab quest. Keep ordinary catch collection and that boss objective separate when deciding what to attach to the rod.
