Reserve the right catch for the Tourist
Look for the Tourist under the tree and read the trade request before selling your Standard Lure catches. Needlefish and Seahorse are the eligible examples recorded in the route baseline.
Complete the exchange and keep the Carrot. It is the special trigger for Pufferfish, so an ordinary lure purchase does not bypass this part of the route.
Complete the Desert story loop
- Catch and retain an accepted endangered creature.
- Exchange it with the Tourist for the Carrot.
- Restock and choose room to move before starting Pufferfish.
- Defeat Pufferfish and retrieve the quest fin.
- Return the fin to finish the Tourist route and unlock Rocks.
Keep the two Desert tasks separate
The Blue Shark delivery belongs to Grillmaster and unlocks cooking. It can improve your preparation, but it does not finish Vacation. For the next island, the item to protect is the Pufferfish fin.
If the Tourist refuses an item, compare the active request with the creature you are holding. A valuable catch or a Drip appearance alone does not establish eligibility for this exchange.
