Collect the quest items before fishing for the boss
Leech is a Forest Island ground-pickup entry with no rod requirement. The reviewed quest route uses three Leeches in the exchange for Leech Bait.
Keep the creature and the resulting bait distinct: the pickups are what you gather and hand in; Leech Bait is what starts the Giant Piranha fishing encounter.
Protect the complete set
The recorded Leech base is only 4 coins. Selling or otherwise using a needed pickup can be a poor trade if it leaves the quest set incomplete.
Count the three items before the hand-in and check the quest response before continuing. This page does not assign exact ground coordinates that have not been independently checked against the current island layout.
