Campaign encounter facts cover the launch route reviewed for Patch 1.0.10. This rewritten guide is not a new gameplay test. Later updates add encounters; check Fishipedia and the update archive for your installed version.
Ordinary Pike and The Old Pike fill different entries
The Beginner fishing pool includes an ordinary Pike. The Old Pike is the separate mini-boss associated with the Beginner Boss Lure. Check the exact name in your collection before deciding that the Forest pike objective is finished.
The name Gammelgäddan can appear in route discussions. Here it refers to The Old Pike, not a third encounter or an additional variant.
Return with the story budget already protected
Complete or budget for the Forest campaign hand-in before using spare funds on optional boss-lure attempts. Bring an early weapon with enough ammunition and food; a late-game loadout is not required just to understand the collection route.
- Confirm The Old Pike is still missing in your save.
- Buy the boss lure for the planned attempt.
- Choose ground where the catch stays visible and recoverable.
Keep movement simple and ammunition deliberate
Move laterally to create room, take readable shots and regain space if the target closes in. Avoid chasing so closely that you lose sight of the creature or your escape route.
This encounter is a collection task rather than a required island-unlock step. Unless you are pursuing another objective, there is little reason to combine it with an unpractised trick shot. No exact health, speed or damage value is asserted here.
Confirm credit before leaving Forest
Check that the entry is recorded after the kill. Then decide what to do with the body and whether Sunfish is also missing from this island’s mini-boss list.
Finishing these launch-era entries does not prove that the current game-wide Collector requirement is complete. Later updates added creatures, so the in-game remaining entries matter more than an old total.
