Forest introduces the Beginner lure tier and early firearms. Choose a weapon you can operate comfortably, then keep funds for fishing and recovery supplies. The recorded equipment baseline lists Pistol at $50 and Shotgun at $150; inspect the displayed price before purchasing.
Separate income fishing from boss fishing
- Beginner Lure: ordinary fishing and collection work; baseline $3.
- Beginner Boss Lure: optional Sunfish or Old Pike encounters; baseline $40.
- Leech Bait: obtained through the lake-side quest, not replaced by either shopping choice.
Leave room for the three Leeches
Sell routine catches deliberately and keep quest pickups out of that transaction. A well-stocked weapon is useful against Giant Piranha, but the next island still depends on returning its quest drop to the lake-side lady.
