Where the Brass Knuckles fits

Brass Knuckles cost $24 at the Lighthouse stage and provide an early melee option. Their main budget benefit is finishing small catches without spending firearm ammunition. The tradeoff is direct exposure to the creature while dealing damage.

Prepare the purchase and the encounter

Start with the small shell creatures from the Crab Fishing Rod. Leave room around the catch and keep a route to step away; the cheapest combat setup is useful only if it lets you finish the encounter consistently.

Compare the purchase with the supplies still needed to leave the Lighthouse. The quest requires the keeper’s Empty Beer Can and the Spider Crab shell hand-in, followed by the $10 Radar before sailing.

Make the weapon work for the trip

Approach manageable catches deliberately, strike while you have control of the position and create space when the creature threatens to trap you. The goal of a starter finisher is a repeatable routine, not maximum risk for every sale.

Keep the setup simple while learning the combat rhythm. Extra loose objects and a cramped landing point make it harder to tell whether a problem comes from timing, positioning or the weapon itself.

Compare the complete setup

The reviewed data does not provide a stable base damage number for Brass Knuckles, and upgrades change melee output. Compare the value shown in your game after fitting parts instead of relying on an invented figure.

The Knife costs $45 and is another Lighthouse melee purchase. A firearm later adds distance at a higher supply cost. Upgrade when the current tool stops supporting the catches you need, rather than buying every option at once.

Store equipment deliberately

Patch 1.0.10 introduced saving for up to 64 ground items, with equipment, quest items and creatures among the priorities. It also added cleaning for cooked weapons and tools by dipping them in water. Treat ground storage as limited, and keep track of important equipment before ending a session.
